Another World .... . . is entered when teams from the Synod's Living Waters for the World water purification project travel to a new installation site. Photo shown here was made on the Island of La Gonave in Haiti in December, 2001. A unit was successfully installed by the Synod team of George Hoge, J.C. Goldman, Jerry Abbott and Wil Howie. They were accompanied by video photographers Brad Van Demark and Stephen Hill and a video is now in production.
Another trip to Haiti is planned for February 14-21, 2002. One team, comprised of George Hoge, Remi Van Comprenolle, David Maude and Don Shillington, will travel to LaGonave and install Unit #10 at the Bill Rice Clinic in Nouvelle Cite. Then they will return to the Episcopal School in Gros Mangles and execute the detailed survey that will be needed to design a system for the contaminated and brackish water there. The second team, Wil Howie, Gene Reed and Don Howie, will travel to Cherident to upgrade and repair Unit #8. Then they will go to Bainet to do a community development and site survey. In partnership with First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Alabama, Wil Howie and John Gramling will travel to Belize to survey a number of sites in villages with the goal of helping them select a pilot project site for a solar powered unit. << Previous | Contents | Next >>
