Best-selling author, J. Philip Newell, will explore spirituality based on the practices of Celtic Christians through the centuries during Montreat Conference Center's Spirituality Conference, April 21-25, 2002.
Newell is a scholar in Spirituality at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland, and a Church of Scotland minister. He completed his doctoral research at Edinburgh University and has since played a leading role on both sides of the Atlantic in the renewed interest of Christians in Celtic spiritual practices. In addition, he is the author of Listening for the Heartbeat of God, The Book of Creation, Echo of the Soul, and Celtic Benediction.
Conference workshops and daily worship events will lead participants in gaining an understanding of life and faith which embraces the essential goodness of creation, as well as humanity made in the image of God.
