


Entries Sought For New Authors ContestAuthor of Best First Book To Be HonoredBy Jerry L. Van Marter LOUISVILLE - The Presbyterian Writers Guild is seeking entries for its ninth annual Angell Award, given to the Presbyterian writer judged to have published the best first book in the previous year. Initiated in 1993, the award honors the life and work of the Rev. James W. Angell, the author of 19 books, including the best-selling "How to Spell Presbyterian." The award for 2001 and a $500 prize will be presented at the Guild's annual General Assembly luncheon. Last year's recipient was Stephen P. McCutchan of Winston-Salem, NC, for his book "Experiencing the Psalms: Weaving the Psalms into Your Ministry and Faith." To be eligible for the award, books must be copyrighted in 2001.
