CLANJAMFRY . . .
AN EVERGREEN SCOTTISH HIGHLAND FESTIVAL
Did you hear the bagpipes in Midtown? The Clanjamfry
Festival has become one of the best family events in the city of Memphis.
Evergreen Presbyterian Church brought back the pipers for their weekend
festival celebrating our Scottish heritage with a Friday night CEILIDH:
a Scottish Talent Show; a Saturday FAIRE; and a Sunday KIRKIN’ O’ THE
TARTANS and dinner on the grounds. Talents did abound at this weekend
of singing, participatory dancing, instrumentals, recitations, and booths
and booths of jewelry, books, food and family fun. On Saturday night
JOCK TAMSON’S BAIRNS, one of Scotland’s most beloved groups, provided
a concert of traditional Celtic music in the sanctuary of beautiful
Evergreen Church. Sunday morning the grand processional of the choir
and the Wolf River Pipes and Drums inspired our faith and blessed our
hearts! Put this event on your calendar for next year!
