She is a former high school and middle school teacher, and has taught in schools in PA, GA, VA, CO, and with the Department of Defense Schools overseas. She has also served as the Director of Religious Education for the US Forces in northern Germany. Willee has just become the Western KY page editor for the Voice. Her husband, Rich, is a retired Army Chaplain and is the Executive for Western Kentucky.

Willee Cooper and Governor Fletcher

The mission of the Kentucky Commission on Women is to improve the status of women in Kentucky. The commission serves as an informational clearinghouse for the needs of Kentucky women. In the past they have been active in encouraging women and girls to consider public service as a viable career option, and in furthering the incorporation of women’s history into Kentucky schools. Cooper says that she is honored to be selected and plans to be an ambassador for her two great concerns, the breakdown of the American family and the rights of the unborn child.
