People at the General Assembly
South Alabama Presbytery Executive Samford Turner was one of many visitors to the Cokesbury Book Store during the Assembly.
Eva Stimson, editor of Presbyterians Today, was the luncheon speaker and the 2004 recipient of the Presbyterian Writers Guild’s David S. Steele Distinguished Writer Award.
A father and son duo at the Assembly: Youth Advsory Delegate Kevin Dick and Stated Clerk Kenneth Dick from Western Kentucky Presbytery.
Sandra Coleman, at right, alternate YAD from Waverly Road Presbyterian Church in Holston Presbytery, visited the PCNI booth in the General Assembly exhibit area to hear abour the work of the Presbyterian Committee for Northern Ireland from board members Bob Conant and Pierce Buford. PCNI sponsors the semi-annual Irish Summer Institute tour of Ireland and the Business Education Initiative, which brings students from Ireland to study in American colleges and universities. PCNI is dedicated to peace building and reconciliation among Catholics and Protestants in Ireland, working through religious, political and community leaders in Ireland and America.
The Mississippi delegation gathered for their traditional General Assembly luncheon: From left, David Wood, Charles McKinley, Morris Taylor, Greg Elmore, Tommy Robinson, Michael Herrin and Presbytery executive Emett Barfield. McKinley and Taylor were commissioners and Robinson was a Youth Advisory Delegate. Elmore is a member of the General Assembly nominating committee and Herrin was an overture advocate. |
