Join The Magnetic Church Conference In NashvilleThe Magnetic Church Conference is nonconfrontational, practical evangelism to help our churches attract and retain new members. The Congregational Development Mission Unit of the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee is pleased to announce that the noted Andrew Weeks, a gifted lay evangelist and humorous, inspiring speaker, will be presenting this event at Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, Nashville on September 9 and 10, 2005. Andy invites everyone, especially skeptics, to come on the opening Friday night when he will focus on spiritual issues to help us overcome our many negative images of evangelism. Significantly, he will invite us into new creative ministries, and not urge us to take on more tasks. He will challenge us to explore opportunities, leaving aside old “shoulds, musts and oughts”. He will review for us the pitfalls, frustrations and misdirection he has seen, then offer new insights on how each one of us can move forward. On Saturday, he will lead us in intense, interactive sessions: “Presenting Your Church to the Public” (Signs, Property and Media) and “Managing New Member Ministry Processes”. Saturday afternoon small group workshops include: “The Ministry of Greeting” and “Communications/Internal Media”. From these sessions, you will get scores of practical ideas you can start to implement immediately. Cost? Only $40.00 per person OR $35.00 per person if prepaid and pre-registered by September 2, 2005 in groups of four or more. Fees include refreshments and Saturday lunch. Lay persons are especially encouraged to attend. For more information log onto www.magnetic-church.com or contact Mary Evelyn Bedenbaugh at maryev3@comcast.net or call at 615-424-6467.
