Scholarship in Journalism

The Communications Committee of the Synod of Living Waters has established a scholarship in honor of Jane Hines. Jane retired March 1st of this year after almost 26 years of service to the Synod. During her tenure, Jane established the award winning Presbyterian Voice, traveling throughout the Synod, listening to Presbyterians and telling our stories. The purpose of the scholarship is to support a Presbyterian student who is pursuing a four-year degree with a major or minor in journalism. The scholarship will be funded by an endowment set up by the Synod of Living Waters. The size, number and frequency of awards will be dependent on earnings produced by the endowment. No scholarship will be awarded until endowment earnings are sufficient. This scholarship is a way to thank Jane for her work, honor her in a way that is worthy of her devotion to the PC(USA), and a way to keep us mindful of her dedication.
