Second Nashville raises steeple

Fire three years ago destroyed sanctuary

After three years of clean up, planning and construction, Second Presbyterian Church in Nashville raised the steeple of their new home on September 29, 2006. Fire completely destroyed the sanctuary in the early morning hours of September 17, 2003. On a crisp autumn day many from the congregation gathered on the front lawn as an exact replica of the destroyed steeple was put into place by a large crane. During this emotional gathering church members remembered with fondness the lost building while looking with hope at the opportunities ahead provided by their new building. The congregation expects to worship in the new sanctuary in early December of this year.
