In Memory of Tom Carroll |

Roy Thomas “Tom” Carroll of Kingsport, TN, died Sunday, August 5 after a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was 74. A long time supporter of the Living Waters for the World, Tom served on the technical design task force and the LWW committee. Instrumental in initiating water system installations in Appalachia with Holston Presbytery, thanks in large part to Tom, there are now several water systems in that impoverished area of the Synod of Living Waters. “Tom epitomized mission,” remarked Bill Williams, moderator of the LWW committee. “He believed, he promoted, he participated personally and — when it became no longer possible for him to be present in person — he continued to support and speak whenever possible.” A memorial fund in Tom’s name has been established with LWW. Gifts to this fund will be used for LWW projects in Appalachia and placement on medical mission boats on the Amazon. To contribute send gifts to the Synod office, 318 Seaboard Lane, Ste. 205, Franklin, TN 37067. Tom is survived by his wife, Eula Kindle Carroll of Kingsport; two daughters, Vicki Manning and husband Ed of Nashville, Becki Carroll and husband Pete Stene, of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Ann and Victoria Manning.
