Aitken & Jones

Doug Aitken, at left, has been named Development Officer for the Presbyterian Foundation in the Presbyteries of East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, Holston, Transylvania, Mid-Kentucky and Western Kentucky. He succeeds Gary Hall, who retired from the Foundation earlier this year. Walk Jones, at right in photo, will continue to serve the Foundation as development officer in the Synod of Living Waters, in the Presbyteries of Memphis, St. Andrew, Mississippi, South Alabama, North Alabama and Sheppards and Lapsley. Aitken was previously Senior Associate of Institutional Services for the Foundation, working from his home in Asheboro, North Carolina. After a career in banking in Charlotte, his hometown, Aitken became President of the North Carolina Zoological Society and then joined the Foundation as a development officer in North Carolina. Doug and his wife have two grown children. They will be moving to the Knoxville area and Doug's office will be located with the Presbytery of East Tennessee. He can be reached at 1-888-220-3746.

Kevin Dick, at left, won first place in the 5K run sponsored by the Presbyterian Board of Pensions during the 213th General Assembly. Kevin is a senior at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. His father, Ken Dick, at right, also won a ribbon in the 5K. He is chair of the Synod's communication committee and stated clerk of Western Kentucky Presbytery.

Gideon Blackburn and Tom Walker

Founding pastor Gideon Blackburn paid a surprise visit to the congregation of First Presbyterian Church in Franklin, Tennessee, on the occasion of their 190th birthday celebration. Breaking into the children's sermon, Blackburn gave a little sermon on the birth of hte church and the unchanging gospel of Chrsit. Blackburn, who was portrayed by Jim Petersen, church elder and attorny, was welcomed by the congregation and senior minister Tom Walker, at right in photo.

David Snellgrove

David Snellgrove, executive of the Synod of Living Waters, provided visitors to the 213th General Assembly with an introduction to the Assembly's procedures and processes in the Visitor Orientation Room during early days of the meeting in Louisville.

Andrew Wells & Christina Wells

Father and daughter commissioners to the 213th General Assembly came to Louisville from the Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where Andrew Wells is pastor. His daughter, Christina, was a Youth Advisory Delegate from Mississippi Presbytery.
