Jameson Poems Set to Music

Something new has been added to “Songs for a Starry Night,” the popular Christmas season worship service made available last year: More music.

Composer Robert Miles is setting four Vic Jameson poems to music, contributing his work to the project launched to benefit the Presbyterian Writers Guild. Miles' plans call for music to accompany “The Innkeeper,” “Sonnet II,” “Mary's Song,” and “Invitation,” all of which are part of the worship service.

The worship program is appropriate for use any time in the Advent/Christmas season. Single copies are $10; purchase of a copy provides authorization for congregational or any related non-profit use.

All profits from sales go to the Presbyterian Writers Guild, an organization of men and women who engage in writing as their Christian ministry.

To order, send a check or money order payable to the Presbyterian Writers Guild, to First Presbyterian Church, 208 Grant Avenue, Santa Fe, NM 87501, attention JeanAnne Swope.

Miles is a Presbyterian layman who composes music for sacred and secular performances. Jameson, also a layman, retired after 27 years as a writer/editor for Presbyterian publications. Both live in Santa Fe, NM. Jameson writes a regular column for the Voice on topics ranging from serious to satire.
