Link Railroad Photographs
in Tusculum College Exhibit
The highly acclaimed railroad photography of O.
Winston Link will be featured in an exhibition at Tusculum College,
beginning Oct. 26 through Dec. 15. The exhibition will be housed in
the Allison Gallery in the Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Center, on the
campus in Greeneville, Tennessee.
The "Railroad Photographs of O. Winston Link:
The Last Steam Railroad in America" will display his work which
documents the final days of the steam locomotive on Norfolk & Western
Railway, the last class one railroad in America to operate exclusively
with steam power. Link's photographs are regarded as one of the best
records of this long gone type of locomotion.
The exhibition will open at 7p.m. on Oct. 26 with
a public address about Link and his photography by Thomas H. Garver,
curator of the exhibition who also served as Link's agent for many years.
Beginning Oct. 27, the exhibition will be open Tuesday through Friday
from noon to 7p.m. and noon to 5p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Special
hours for the exhibit are planned on Nov. 2-4 and Nov. 9-11 when it
will be open from noon to 9:30p.m. The exhibition will be closed Thanksgiving
Day, Nov. 22.
