Synod to Meet January 28
at First Church Nashville
Having changed the schedule for stated meetings
from September to January, the Synod of Living Waters will meet on January
28, 2002 in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
Included on the docket for this meeting are the
adoption of a 2002 budget and the approval of a Manual of Operation
and Standing Rules as required by the Book of Order.
A special treat for commissioners and visitors
at this meeting will be a musical presentation by a choir from Ntem
Presbtery in the Cameroon.
The three committees of Synod (Living Waters for
the World, Presbytery Ministry Partnerships and Communication) will
meet and report to the Synod during the day.
Moderator Mamie Jones will preside at the meeting
and Vice Moderator Kenneth Dick is to be elected Moderator for 2002.
Other Meetings
In preparation for the Synod meeting, the Synod
Executive/Transition Committee will meet at the Synod office in Franklin
on December 5 and 6 and January 8 and 9.
The Mission Partnership Funding Consultation will
be held in Franklin on February 11.
